Our Identity

Our History

In the fast altering context of techno-eco and social realities, the vision of Lead Education Foundation was conceptualized in 2006 by a team of committed social activists. It is a non-government organization (NGO), registered with the Registrars of Joint Stock Companies & Firms, GOB under the Society Registration Act 1860 to work for the causes of neglected, underprivileged and illiterate people of the society.

It was founded to work for human resource development capable to meet the requirements of 21st century by providing appropriate education, training, health care and nutrition, etc. among the underprivileged segment of the population including women and persons with disability (PWD). Orphans and street children care, supporting poor and distressed women and children especially in disaster are the main thrust of our special care programs. Geographical location of Bangladesh has made vulnerable due to natural calamities and man-made disasters. Every year a large number of people are getting added to the extremely poor community. LEF helps and upgrade the lifestyle to survive in the community through various program initiatives for their economic solvency and secured social life. So, LEF contributes to the overall development of the country towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Since inception, the approaches of development interventions have been specified to focus on building capacity of the people rather than providing mere charity to them. Major interventions in the field of quality education, health, environmental sanitation, safe water, poverty alleviation, women empowerment and gender equality.

Today, the organization enjoys enrichment from individuals of repute with accomplished success in their respective spheres; it has grown gradually from an individual academic venture to a conglomeration of society, trust under statutes. It strives to bring a sustainable social development with a committed workforce, strong partnership and networks. They are fully acquainted with social problems and equipped with abilities to deal those problems in an appropriate manner.

We nourish human values and dignity and stresses upon participative approach. It believes that all those concerned with a decision should have a voice in its making and all those deserve and desire should access it without any financial constraint. It’s Technical Education Project, Dhaka Central Polytechnic Institute (DCPI) has been providing benefit to the students towards achieving engineering skills in different technologies. On the other hand, Darus Salam Int’l School is providing quality education for the children in English medium following National Curriculum & Text-book Board (NCTB) syllabus.

Our Mission

Our mission is to boost up the capacity of the deserving people against the challenges of the 21st century such as, poverty, illiteracy, disease and social injustice.

Our Objectives

  1. To establish and run educational institutions both general and technical for the purpose of transmission of useful knowledge among the people or target group.
  2. To generate income /employment opportunities for the unemployed youth, destitute women, marginal farmers and landless people and make them self-reliant.
  3. To undertake research, survey, study, advocacy and consultation programs to support and pursue development initiatives and promote good governance at local and national levels.
  4. To undertake studies relating changes in technologies world-wide and to absorbed them in Industry to achieve improved productivity and efficiency and to arrange technical trainings. Conservation of natural resources by application of improved techniques.
  5. To formulate ecological balance through renewable energy like, biogas, solar and other initiative, intensive social forestation, biodiversity and other initiatives of adapting to climate change. Conservation of natural resources by application of improved techniques.
  6. To awaken the people regarding the horrors of AIDS and make them aware of the prevention of AIDS. Today the world is in panic of dreadful, burning and increasing peril of AIDS. The syndrome of immune deficiency is spreading very fast.
  7. To provide shelter, relief and rehabilitation of the orphans, disabled, distressed and disaster affected people.
  8. To enhance women empowerment and eliminate gender inequalities and social injustices through different measures and to ensure legal assistance and human rights.
  9. To organize the activities against illiteracy, child labour and in favour of their rights to get them better education and desired facilities for health and happiness.
  10. To co-operate and co-ordinate with NGOs and to provide a legitimately liberal helping hand to all the Non-Government Organizations engaged in cause, concern and welfare of the general public in all sphere of their life including education, health, social welfare etc.
  11. To undertake appropriate projects matching with the goals and objectives of the organization.

Legal status of the organization

The organization has been registered with the Registrars of Joint Stock Companies & Firms, GOB under the Society Registration Act 1860. Registration No. is S-6510 (755)/07 dated 08/03/2007. The Foundation runs Dhaka Central Polytechnic Institute since 2006 which is affiliated by Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) under the Ministry of Education. BTEB Code No. is 50239

Management Structure

  1. A General Body (GB) consists of 17 members.
  2. An Executive Committee (EC) comprises 11 members.
